This is my first year to ever grow Brussels sprouts and I'm going to have a huge harvest! These were started back in April and put out into raised beds in May. Conventional wisdom is that that is a bit early, but this year it just worked out. Here, the sun came out right after a rain and I grabbed my camera to get a picture. Now I'm just going to have to stare at the picture until I can get out to start the harvest!!!

What a head of cabbage!

Cole slaw!!

With our unusually cool Pacific Northwest summer, it's been a great season for lettuce, kale, cabbage and other cool-weather plants. This is my second cabbage harvest and I just had to show it to you ... and show you what I did with it .... cole slaw. YUM! :)

I just used this very basic recipe ... and added some celery seed ...

It's that Cole Slaw time of year!

Look what I got out of the garden yesterday ... and there are more to come! I've been waiting a long time for this ... the season's first cole slaw.

We make ours with Miracle Whip and celery seed (I am lactose-intolerant and also have to watch my egg consumption). How do you make yours? Always looking for great ideas and new variations! :)
