Aunt Kathryn's Apple Pie

4 lbs. apples (peeled)
2 cups sugar
2 tbs. corn starch
1/2 tsp cinnamon
1/2 cup butter

3 cups flour
1 tsp salt
19 level tbs Crisco

Peel the apples, then slice.

In separate bowl, mix sugar, corn starch and cinnamon.

For crust, mix flour, salt and Crisco shortening with pastry blender. Add small amounts of ice water and mix with fork until all holds together.

Divide and roll out one for bottom crust in pan. Put half of apples and 1/2 of sugar/cinnamon mixture and slice 1/4 cup butter. Layer over the other half of apples, sugar/cinnamon mixture and another 1/4 cup butter.

Drizzle about 1/2 cup water over all.

Roll out the remaining crust and place it over all. Poke with a fork and sprinkle with sugar.

Bake at 400 degrees for about an hour.
